It's been months since the last time I wrote.

Some of you don't know what I've been up to the past eight months; others think I'm still happily working as a physician recruiter, selling doctors to hospitals for temporary work. I was, but not anymore.

For the first time in my life I got fired. Talk to me offline if you want to know that story, but it's not important in the grand scheme of things. What is important is that I'm committing to a pursuit that I casually started two years ago.

I'm committing to the pursuit of medical school.

The University of Utah has accepted my request to take biology courses that will strengthen my application. If I'm not accepted into a 2011 medical school class then I'll receive a BS degree in biology from the U in two years, then apply more aggressively.

I'm also working on the other things that go with applying to med school. On Wednesday I'm training to volunteer in the emergency department of Alta View Hospital. Today I will shadow my family care physician for the third time. I still need to find leadership and research positions, but that will probably happen in September.

I don't know how my family and friends will receive this news. My mom seems confused; my oldest brother doesn't think the time in school is worth the reward; my older brother pretty much supports anything I think will work; my friends just learned about this from the words above.

So that's the plan for now. I don't know what I'll do for work in the near future, though I'd like to find a job, any job, in a hospital setting.

I have two years to excel in my classes to show that my average grades at Utah State University are due to something besides laziness. In the sports world they teach that laziness doesn't improve with time, so improving my grades will prove I can achieve anything I commit to.

I'm open to any thoughts, suggestions or questions you have anything above. Send me an email or text, or call me.

I'd like to thank everybody who has supported me so far. Thank you.

You were there.

Welcome to my website. This page will allow family and friends to stay current on everything I'm doing and thinking, in addition to serving as my digital portfolio.
